Director of Revenue Operations – Private Equity Portfolio Role

We are partnering with a top middle-market Private Equity firm to build early-stage pipeline for a Director of Revenue Operations role supporting multiple PE-backed portfolio companies. This is an internal position within the Private Equity firm, designed for a senior Revenue Operations leader with an MBA who thrives in high-growth, investment-driven environments.

This role is ideal for candidates actively working with Private Equity firms, PE-backed companies, or portfolio operating teams, and who bring a Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) mindset paired with hands-on execution across GTM strategy, sales operations, and revenue analytics.

Key Responsibilities – Revenue Operations & GTM Leadership

  • Serve as the Revenue Operations expert within a Private Equity firm, partnering with portfolio company leadership teams

  • Own and optimize full-funnel revenue metrics, including pipeline health, conversion rates, forecast accuracy, revenue velocity, CAC, LTV, and quota attainment

  • Design and deploy GTM Revenue Operations strategies aligned to PE investment theses

  • Lead Sales Operations execution, including territory planning, quota design, compensation frameworks, CRM optimization, and forecasting rigor

  • Apply a CRO-level operating mindset to revenue architecture, tooling, and process design

  • Drive alignment across sales, marketing, finance, and operations to enable scalable growth

  • Support value creation planning, diligence insights, and post-investment growth initiatives

  • Lead change management efforts to instill data-driven decision-making and operational discipline across portfolio companies


Required Experience & Qualifications

  • MBA required

  • Demonstrated experience working in Private Equity–backed environments, PE operating groups, or with multiple PE portfolio companies

  • Deep, hands-on background in Revenue Operations and Sales Operations

  • Expertise in GTM strategy and revenue operations across industry sectors

  • Proven ability to operate with a Chief Revenue Officer mindset while executing tactically

  • Advanced knowledge of Revenue Operations tools, including CRM, forecasting platforms, sales performance management, and analytics tools

  • Investment banking experience strongly preferred, including financial modeling, diligence, or growth analysis exposure

  • Track record of driving organizational change, scaling revenue operations, and managing high-growth initiatives

  • Strong stakeholder management skills across senior executives, investment teams, and portfolio leadership
