The Role
The Senior Paid Social Media Buyer role is a specialized position for an expert with 6–9 years of experience focused on performance marketing and growth. You will serve as the strategic engine for large accounts, translating business goals into channel-specific action plans and ensuring profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Quantitative Forecasting & Margin Management:
- Develop and maintain channel-level performance forecasts by modeling variables (e.g., CPM trends, conversion rates) and defining the point of diminishing returns.
- Manage performance metrics (ROAS, CPA, CPL) to operate within client-defined Contribution Margin (CM) boundaries.
- Contribute channel data and insights to the wider team’s holistic cross-channel forecast for strategic modeling.
- Cross-Channel Collaboration & Media Mix Influence:
- Collaborate with Paid Search, Programmatic, and other channel strategists to understand the interplay and effect of other channels on overall performance.
- Participate in internal cross-channel discussions to recommend pressure tests to the central Media Mix Model (MMM).
- Provide data from your channel to support recommendations for budget reallocation to the Account Director.
- Creative Strategy & GenAI Leadership
- Translate AI/media intelligence insights into specific, actionable creative hypotheses to improve click-through and conversion rates at scale.
- Lead the internal charge on GenAI creative solutions (e.g., generative testing, rapid iteration tools) to improve speed and performance.
- Brief, optimize, and promote creative best practices to the internal team and clients, focusing on solutions that enable scaling and efficient performance across all platforms.
- Execution & Channel Expansion:
- Lead the strategy and execution across core social platforms (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat).
- Demonstrate a track record of identifying and successfully launching new media opportunities (e.g., Meta, Pinterest; pMAX, Programmatic) to expand the client’s profitable footprint.
- Data Navigation & Reporting:
- Interpret performance and lift data from third-party measurement and attribution tools, including Recast, TripleWhale, and Northbeam.
- Proactively partner with the data science team to identify and resolve data limitations within the evolving proprietary measurement tools.
- Must be prepared to forecast and model complex scenarios using advanced Google Sheets/Excel when proprietary tools are not yet mature.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience: 6–9 years of experience managing and scaling high-budget paid media strategy.
- Analytical Skill Set: Strong grasp of mathematical and statistical concepts; Expert proficiency in advanced Google Sheets/Excel modeling is required. This role is inherently quantitative.
- Platform Expertise: Fluency in all major social media buying platforms and ad managers.
- Data Literacy: Ability to interpret and apply outputs from third-party attribution platforms; ability to navigate and contribute to an evolving internal data architecture.
- Innovation: Demonstrated ability to apply emerging technologies, particularly GenAI, to creative strategy and optimization for performance gains.
- Certification: At least one current paid media certification (e.g., Meta Blueprint, TikTok Academy).
Benefits Summary
- Salary Range: Up To $150,000 per year
- Quarterly Performance Bonus: 5%–15% of base salary, tied to profitable client growth and strategic project execution.
